For over 10 years, the chairman of the association has had contacts with the couple Samuel and Emily Tjakuapie in Opuwo.
Emily Tjakuapie has her own small Namibian aid organization "Kakurukaze Mungunda - Child Care Center"
She supports kindergartens and a private school for street children, as well as her husband, who works as a pastor for the ELCRN in Kaokoland.
This creates opportunities during visits to Opuwo to provide emergency aid to the Himbas in their villages during periods of severe drought.
