Would you like to become an educational sponsor?
As you can see from the projects in Okombahe, the basic needs (food and education) of the poorer rural population around Okombahe are very important to us.
In recent years we have realised that we cannot end our educational support when a pupil finishes school. Disadvantaged pupils in particular, who often do not graduate from school or only achieve poor results, need at least one to two years of training, usually in a skilled trade, in order to have a realistic chance of earning their own living afterwards.
But training costs money in Namibia, and only if parents or relatives can pay for it do these young people even have the opportunity to start training.
How much does a one-year training course cost?
One
one-year training at a school
, e.g. at COSDEC, costs
approx. 800,-€
and the
cost of living
(accommodation, food, transport, ...) again
monthly about 80,-€
per young person.
This adds up to a total of approximately €1,760 per year or approximately €147 per month.
We as an association can only cover this if you take on a (partial) sponsorship for a young person for a year.
With such a (partial) sponsorship, you will receive a personal update from "your" trainee two to three times a year and there is also the opportunity to get in touch with the young person beyond this.
If you are interested, please write to us.
