Fence project GS Khomasdal
Through the Namibian aid organization HANO, the association got to know the Khomasdal Primary School. During the visit, we learned from principal Bonny Matengu and the teachers about the difficulties associated with the leaky fence surrounding the school grounds:
- Unwanted persons have the opportunity to enter the school premises.
- There is an increase in destruction and break-ins at night
- Women and girls no longer feel safe on the premises
- Students can leave the school premises unnoticed during class time.
- and much more.
Therefore, the teaching staff, together with the parent representatives and the Namibia Support Association, submitted an application to the German Schmitz Foundation for a €10,000 grant, which was approved. The Namibia Association and the school itself are contributing additional funds to the foundation's grant.
This fence was started in January 2020 and is now largely finished.
