Supporting primary school students to learn
Many children of the Willem Borchard Primary School in Okombahe (Grades 0-7) do not achieve the required skills to be well prepared for secondary school (Grades 8-12). Many children are unable to read and do math properly by the end of their primary school years.
In lengthy discussions with the school administration, we discovered some of the support our association could provide.
Since 2022, the association has supported the school in the following projects:
- Playground equipment for breaks
- 50 hungry children receive a double slice of bread with peanut butter every morning before school
- Five needy children are also accommodated in the student dormitory.
- 5 needy children receive a school uniform
- Repair of teachers' laptops and printers
