In November and December, all classes at the Krautheim Secondary School worked with their teachers for the Christmas bazaar, which took place on the Friday before the Christmas holidays. The proceeds from the Christmas bazaar were unbelievably high: €6,400! 100% of these proceeds went to the Namibia Support Association. On behalf of the children in the student hostel in Okombahe, we would like to say a big thank you.
The Namibia Support Association will now ensure that the money is used to repair the underground water pipes of the student residence as quickly as possible. The Black Lutheran Church (ELCRN), which runs the student residence, has already commissioned people from Okombahe to submit a cost estimate and begin the initial work.
In February/March, Suanne Zeller, 2nd chairwoman, and Margret Knoche will be in Namibia and in Okombahe and will see how the work is hopefully getting off to a good start. By summer at the latest, when the next tour group will be in Namibia, the children will hopefully have running water for their toilets and washrooms again.
